President & Chief Executive Officer
A native of Huntington, NY, Raf began his career in construction at the age of 13. He studied Civil Engineering for two years after high school before opening his first construction partnership in 1984 with our very own Pete Longo. Since then, Raf has been building and remodeling luxury homes and commercial properties throughout Long Island.
During the course of his tenure in the industry, Raf has worked in every aspect of construction, from framing and masonry to plumbing and electric, as well as insulation, roofing and landscaping. He has developed relationships with professionals in our field and established a reputation for honesty and loyalty in the industry. In 2015 he founded Raf Development Corp., whose reputation is rooted in that history and those relationships. In his role as President and CEO, Raf oversees all stages of each RDC project from initial consultation to completion.
In an effort to provide uncompromised quality and service, Raf has built a company with a fully staffed office capable of handling development, construction management, and general contracting. Moreover, in order to guide his clients through the important and often challenging process of building a custom-home, by motivating and inspiring exceptional talent, Raf has assembled a unique and gifted team.
Project Management & Procurement
Pete, also a native of Huntington, and Raf met during college where Pete studied Construction Technology. Before that, he studied Architecture at BOCES of New York State while working for a carpenter in order to learn both aspects of the business, and even had an apprenticeship with an architectural firm. In 1984, he and Raf started their first construction business and worked together for several years. In 1990, Pete switched gears for a while, followed his passion for cars and opened an auto body shop which he ran successfully for many years. While his passion for everything automotive never faded, he started working with Raf again in 2005 and they have been working together ever since. All told, Pete has over 30 years’ experience working in carpentry and construction.
